Model Semi-formal letter on Application
During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants.
Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter
- Remind him when and where you met
- Tell him what kind of job you are interested in
- Say why you think you would be suitable for the job
Write at least 150 words
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ………………………,
Dear Chief Ben,
I hope this meets you well? I’m writing to remind you of my interest in working in one of your “BenDee Foods” outlets in Lagos. We both boarded the Atlantic airline from Port Harcourt en route to Lagos last week Thursday and we had a chat together while on board about your business and how I could come in.
If available, I am willing to take up the role of a supervisor in any of your eateries. I need a full time role here in Lagos that matches my past experiences and I am sure this position meets this need.
As earlier hinted, I possess 8 years cognate experience in hotel management and another 6 years of supervisory experience after working at “Delum Hotel” and “Big Treat Restaurants” respectively, two popular players in the Nigerian hospitality industry, both of which are based in Port Harcourt. I am confident that these experiences make me a good fit for your enterprise.
I look forward to receiving a positive feedback from you soon.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Promise Tom
